How to play Tangram
Play Tangram free online with smooth drag-and-drop controls. Match seven geometric pieces to the silhouette and complete the spatial puzzle.
Objective, rules, and result
Move all seven geometric pieces into their matching parts of the silhouette. A piece locks when its shape and placement match; all seven must fit without gaps to finish.
How to play
- Drag a coloured geometric piece toward the central silhouette.
- Match each piece to the outline with the same shape and orientation.
- Place all seven pieces without gaps to complete the tangram.
Controls
Keyboard and mouse: Drag shapes into the matching silhouette.
Touch: Touch and drag shapes into the silhouette.
Strategies to try
- Place the two large triangles first because they define much of the silhouette.
- Compare angles and edge lengths, not just empty area, before committing a piece.
Device and accessibility notes
Pieces are placed by mouse or touch drag. Strong shape and colour contrast support visual matching, but the current version does not offer keyboard dragging.
Use the Settings control above the game to turn sound or vibration off and to reduce interface motion. Expand mode can provide a larger play area. Records are stored only in this browser when storage is available.
