The QR image pattern is not written out as a text fixture. Decoding checks that the generated symbol carries the intended string.

Errors and unsupported input

No readable QR code was found

Try a sharper image with the whole symbol and its border. Avoid cropping, severe perspective distortion, low contrast, or heavy compression.

Format rules and limitations

Generated input is capped at 4 KiB but actual QR capacity can be lower. Image uploads are limited to 10 MiB and PNG/JPEG/WebP/GIF/BMP.

Decoding displays text and never opens links automatically. A successfully decoded URL can still point to an unwanted destination.

Privacy and security

The workspace processes data locally in your browser. Copy writes to the system clipboard; downloads persist on your device. Share, where offered, sends the selected result to your chosen app or copies it to the clipboard. The page also loads site assets and may contact configured analytics or consent services; tool input and output are not included in DevMate analytics. Review a report before sharing it, especially when it contains credentials or device details.

Does decoding require a camera?

No. This workspace reads an uploaded image file. Camera-based tools remain deferred.

Is my uploaded QR image sent to a server?

The decoder reads the selected image in this browser. Sharing the decoded result is a separate action that transfers the text to your chosen app or clipboard.
