How to use Image Compress
Use this tool to reduce a JPG, PNG, or WebP image for faster sharing or web use while comparing the output with the original.
Example
Resize a 4000-pixel camera photo to a 1600-pixel maximum dimension and test 80% quality for a smaller web image.
Formats and errors
The file picker accepts images; decoding support depends on your browser. JPG, PNG and WebP are the intended inputs. Output choices are WebP, JPG and PNG. JPG replaces transparency with white; PNG has no quality slider. Animated images are not preserved as animations.
Very large images can exceed device memory. An unsupported or corrupt file will not produce an output.
No fixed file-size cap is enforced. That does not mean unlimited capacity: large files, many pages or decoded image dimensions can exceed available browser memory. Try smaller batches or a smaller source file if processing fails.
Privacy, security, and limitations
Read our privacy policy Processing happens in your browser; selected content is not intentionally uploaded to CalcMate. Avoid sensitive files on shared devices, keep an original backup, and verify every download. The image fits within both maximum dimensions without enlargement. Output can be larger than the original, even when the savings display reads 0%. Compare the byte sizes. Compression may remove metadata and cannot restore missing detail.
Selected file content is held in browser memory for processing. These tools do not intentionally save the selected files as persistent drafts; downloaded files remain wherever your browser saves them. The site can still load network resources and configured analytics; local file processing does not mean the whole website works offline.
